Woman in 60s dies following Ballymoney RTC

Police have confirmed that a woman in her 60s has died following an RTC earlier this month in Ballymoney.

The incident happened in the John Street area of the town on December 6 when a pedestrian was hit by a car.

At the time the road was closed for a period whilst emergency services dealt with the incident, and the victim was transported to the Hospital.

However, it has now been confirmed the pedestrian has since died at the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast, as a result of the injury sustained during the RTC.

she has been named locally as Mrs Sandra Cooper.

Inspector Shaw from the Collision Investigation Unit said: “Police responded to the report of an incident at approximately 4.40pm on the evening of the 6th this month.

“Tragically, a 64-year-old female pedestrian has since died.

“Enquiries are continuing, and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at this time, or who may have captured dash cam footage, to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1329 06/12/21.”
