Rider Killed at UPG named

The rider who died during a race at the Ulster Grand Prix on Saturday was Andy Lawson.

The 24-year-old from Arbroath in Scotland, was taking part in the second Supersport race on the Dundrod circuit in County Antrim when he was killed.

An investigation into the incident is under way.

In a statement, the Dundrod and District Motorcycle Club said it was “incredibly saddened at the news”.
Mr Lawson’s family said they wanted the rest of the event to continue as planned

Noel Johnston, the clerk of the Ulster Grand Prix course, said: “My condolences are with his family, friends and race team.
