He is to replace DAERA Minister Edwin Poots who has stepped down for health reasons from 11.59pm on February 1.
The Executive Office has confirmed that Gordon Lyons will be Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.
Gary Middleton will replace Gordon Lyons as a Junior Minister in The Executive Office.
