Male in hospital with leg injury following Carrickfergus shooting

Police were called to the scene of a shooting incident in Carrickfergus yesterday (Sunday) evening.

The incident in the Cyprus Place area Of the town was reported at approximately 10pm on Sunday.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Police received a report that a man had sustained gunshot wounds to his leg.

“He Is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

“We would appeal to anyone with any information which could assist Police with their enquiries to contact 101 quoting reference number 2045 26/07/20.

“Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
