Local Sinn Féin Councillor Leanne Peacock has said she is delighted to have secured additional lighting at Drumbolcan walkway in Rasharkin.
Cllr Peacock said: “I am delighted that my proposals to provide additional lighting at Drumbolcan walkway in Rasharkin have passed at full Council.
“This is an issue that I have been campaigning for since my election last May and I am very pleased to have finally secured a positive resolution to this issue.
“There were many health and safety issues with the large areas of total darkness at the site and local people have suffered falls. I trust that this additional lighting will rectify these issues and ensure the safety of those using the walkway moving forward.
“The additional lighting will be installed in the coming weeks at the site and I would like to thank council staff for engaging with me to find a resolution to this issue.”
