Police Officers have been injured overnight after rioting in Sandy.

A senior police officer has called for calm after officers were injured during
rioting last night in Sandy Row, south Belfast.

Belfast District Commander Chief Superintendent Simon Walls said: “Police were trying to protect those living in the area, and it is completely unacceptable that my officers came under sustained attack.”
