The PSNI have released a statement after the sudden death of a child on a family farm near Larne.
The incident occured this morning on the farm at Bankhall Road, Magheramorne.
It’s believed the child died as a result of a stabbing. A woman (the children’s mother) and another child were also seriously injured.
A police spokesperson has said:
“Police can confirm that an investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the death of a young child in the Larne area today.
“A woman in her 30s and a baby are currently receiving hospital treatment for injuries.
“The investigation is at an early stage and police are currently not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.”
