Serious crash on A26 Crankill Road leaves three in hospital

This evening a serious two vehicle crash on the Crankill Road (A26) heading to Ballymena, has left three people injured and taken to hospital.

The crash on the same stretch of road as last weeks fire which destroyed a builders merchant business, saw police, Ambulance service and the Air Ambulance in attendance. After treatment on scene, it’s understood that three individuals were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for further treatment.

At present no further information is available on the three injured individuals conditions.

The road remains closed, and a spokesperson for the PSNI has said;

“Police are advising motorists to avoid the Crankill Road, Ballymena this evening following a serious two vehicle road traffic collision.

Motorists should seek alternative main routes for their journey.”
