The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Julian Smith, has signed regulations that will see same sex couples able to be married.
The new regulations will come into effect on January 21 with couples able to marry from Valentine’s Day 2020 onwards.
This legislation was passed during the summer at Westminster due to the lack of a functioning government at Stormont.
Posting on social bed is, Mr Smith posted;
“A very good end to the day – signing the new same sex marriage regulations for Northern Ireland. Same sex couples in NI will now be able to marry by Valentine’s Day 2020.”
