Ballymoney U3A : Autumn Session's to begin 4th September

Ballymoney U3A will be starting the 2018 Autumn Session on 4th September, the first Tuesday in the month as usual. Further monthly meetings will be held on 2nd October and 6th November with the Members’ Christmas lunch on 4th December. Meetings are normally held in the Old Court House, Charlotte Street, from 10.30am. All retired or semi-retired people are welcome to attend this very popular and friendly group. The varied activity groups will also be starting up again after the summer.
The speaker at September’s meeting will be Judith Gillespie OBE, CBE, who retired as PSNI Deputy Chief Constable in 2014. She was born and raised in North Belfast and attended the Belfast Royal Academy, completing her education in 2005 with a Masters in applied criminology from Cambridge. She spent her early career in the Greater Belfast Area, being appointed Assistant Chief Constable in 2004. This made her the first female to reach chief officer rank in the PSNI. In 2009 she was promoted to Deputy Chief Constable, becoming the second most senior police officer in Northern Ireland.
