Police arrest 18 year old after police vehicle is rammed

Police have made an arrest following a incident at the weekend, that resulted in a police vehicle being rammed off M22 Randlestown carriageway.

Police were attempted to stop the a vehicle on the M22. Failing to stop, the police pursued, before the BMW rammed the police vehicle off the road and into a lamp post, causing significant damage to the car.

An office was also injured in the incident and required hospital treatment. The PSNI say that the officer is ‘still recovering’.The BMW was abandoned further up the carriageway with the occupant leaving the scene.

A police spokesperson has said this morning: “In relation to this incident from the weekend, 1486 25/04/2020 in the early hours this morning Police arrested an 18 year old male in connection with this incident. The officer is still recovering. Thanks for all your support.”
