
This year’s 2023 trial marked 75 years ofGlenravel & District Working Sheepdog Society .
We believe this trialis the oldest running trial on the island of Ireland .To mark the milestone thecommittee decided to donate all the proceeds of the trial to a localcharity called Angels Wishes .
Friday night kicked off the local novice class with Seamus Gallagher& Dan taking the top spot with JP Mc Fadden & June in a close second .Paudie Mc Killop & Becca took 3rd spot on the evening . The main trial gotunderway on Saturday morning at 8am with Peter Og Morgan in the judging seat .The sheep remained very consistent from the start of the trial to end with themule hoggets proving hard to pen and shed. Shannon Conn & Rick took top prize in theIntermediate with 61 points with Paudie Mc Killop & Tide taking a close secondon 60 point . James P Mc Kee & Becca put up an excellent run in the OpenTrial scoring 90 points . Alastair Lyttle then a little later put up thewinning run scoring 93 points to take top spot in the Open trial. Tommy Long& Gem took 3rd on 88 points . Before prize giving John Paul Mc Faddenthanked all the sponsors and everyone who helped make the fundraising trial ahuge success for 2023 .
