It was a day of mixed emotions for local road racer Darryl Tweet at the Cookstown100 race meeting, going from two podium places to injury.

The Ballymoney rider took two 2nd places in both the Supersport and Supertwin classes, just behind Adam McLean, who also rode as Darryl teammate for the Supertwin race following a recent announcement by McAdoo Racing.

Unfortunately after coming off his machine at Mackney’s corner during the Lightweight Supersport race, Darryl sustained injury which will require surgery, we believe which was to be scheduled for this morning (Sunday).

It is understood this is to repair a broken hip and ankle.

We are wishing Darryl all the best and a quick recovery
