Captain Tom Moore, the WWII army veteran who raised over £32m for NHS charities is to receive a Knitehood.

Nominated by the PM Boris Johnson, the official announcement will be made Today as the Queen officially approved the PMs request.

Captain Tom set out to raise only £1,000 by walking laps of his garden before he turned 100, but blew that target out of the water with over £32m raised.

On his 100s Brithday, not only did he receive a birthday card from the Queen, a fly past over his house but also an honorary promotion to Colonel.

However under army protocol the ‘Colonels’ official title will be ‘Captain Sir Tom Moore’
