The new Labour Party Leader has been announced this morning as Sir Keir Starmer.
After a three month leadership contest, members, trade unionists and other supported voted in a ballot.

The new leader fought off challenges from fellow shadow cabinet member Rebecca Long-Bailey and Wigan MP Lisa Nandy.

The new deputy leader is Angela Rayner, who was also selected today by the party.
Outgoing party leader Jeremy Corbin has since becoming leader, lost two elections and a vote of no confidence in him by his fellow MPs
