An AMBER warning of Low Temperatures/Ice has been issued for Northern Ireland.

Ice will again become a problem this evening and overnight with temperatures again dropping as low as -9 in some places, possible even as low as -12 in snow covered rural areas.

With some wintry showers expected today and some slight melting of snow this afternoon, Ice is expected to become widespread tonight and will cause some hazardous conditions on roads and footpaths tonight. With some roads possibly becoming impassable

The public are advised to take extra care this evening, tonight and during tomorrow mornings rush hour.

DFI – The salting of roads on the scheduled network considered to be at risk is planned for this afternoon and evening. Road users are advised to exercise caution when travelling, particularly when driving on untreated roads.
