Jordan ‘kicksoff’ Childrens Cancer Charity fundraiser

Ballymoney young lad Jordan Forsythe is one of the organisers of an upcoming charity football match in aid of the NI Cancer Fund for Children.

The match will ‘pitch’ two teams against each other – dubbed Team Blair vs Team Forsythe – in a friendly game of football … and no guessing where Jordan’s loyalties lay!

Jordan’s family have had a long association with the NI Cancer Fund for Children, with the charity having supported him, his brother Darren and their father Mervyn whilst Mum Pat was going through cancer treatment.

Since then the family have been dedicated to fundraising for the charity through various activities in the local area.

Unfortunately, Jordan’s Dad Mervyn passed away earlier this year – known affectionately as ‘The Sheriff’ for his love of country music – Mervyn at one time presenting a popular country music program on the local community radio station, FUSE FM.

Picking up the baton from his late Dad, Jordan is continuing the fundraising, ‘kicking off’ firstly with this charity football match.

The match will take place on Thursday, July 22 at the Joey Dunlop leisure Centre, 7 pm.

Jordan say: “Still plenty of time to get involved and donate, if you wish to do so there is now a public fundraiser on Facebook, or get in touch with any of the players.”
