THREE men accused of a burglary which was said to have left an elderly couple, aged 84 and 79, “terrified in their own home” that the culprits could return, have been further remanded in custody.

Jewellery, watches and gift vouchers were taken during a burglary at a dwelling at Finvoy Road, Ballymoney, on July 22 this year.

Three men – Mikulas Dansco (45), his son Robert Grulyo (18) and Edward Nemet (26) – all of the same address at Fingal Street in Belfast, are charged with burglary and going equipped for burglary with latex gloves and a screwdriver.

During a previous court hearing a police officer said the elderly couple was left “terrified in their own home” that the burglars would return.

On Monday the men appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court via video link from prison where they have been on remand in relation to the charges.

A prosecutor said police investigations were continuing but that a full file was due to be received from the PSNI by September 5.

The cases have been adjourned to later this month and the men further remanded in custody.
