Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre Gym set to receive £225,000 upgrade.
Speaking about the investment, Councillor Wilson said: “I was delighted to support the recent initiative to implement a full upgrade of the gym and equipment offering at Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre circa £225,000.
“I have been using this gym facility for circa 30 years myself…some of the equipment on offer certainly appears to have been there since the 1990s and has become quite tired, worn and outdated.”
This upgrade will include:
- New equipment, flooring and AV & AC equipment for upgrade for existing area, including;
- Delivery, Supply and installation of Various items of Cardiovascular Equipment
- Fixed Resistance Weights equipment and Functional Strength and Conditioning equipment
- Spin Bikes
- Upgrade of gym and spin studio, to include repainting and lighting.
Mr Wilson concluded, “The time frame for works to begin is June 2023 , there will of course be disruption to gym opening times during the upgrade.
