DUP Alderman John Finlay has welcomed the announcement by Infrastructure Minister, Nichola Mallon, to roll out part-time 20mph speed limits at around 100 schools, including Eden and Garryduff primaries.
Alderman Finlay said, “Over the years, I have campaigned tirelessly on road safety issues. It is vital that every possible step is taken to preserve lives on our roads.
I have been particularly active in seeking to secure safety measures outside our local schools, and I therefore warmly the announcement by Infrastructure Minister, Nichola Mallon, to roll out part-time 20MPH speed limits outside around 100 schools.
“These will include Eden Primary and Garryduff Primary. This is excellent news. At a time when sensible measures are being taken to ensure the well-being of our children in schools in these Covid 19 days, it is very encouraging that safety measures are now being taken outside the school grounds”.
