Police in Causeway Coast and Glen’s have received an increased number of calls regarding the use of scramblers and quads at Benone and Downhill Beach.
A reminder to those considering using their motorcycles on the beach: “The beach is a public place and therefore governed by the same rules as the roads under the Road Traffic Order.
“A drivers licence and insurance are required when riding a scrambler or quad on the beach.
“If you are detected using a motorcycle without a drivers licence or insurance you will be liable for prosecution and the motorcycle will be seized.”
