Ballymoney RFC Enforces Strict No Dogs Policy on Pitches

In a recent statement released by Ballymoney RFC, they have reaffirmed its long-standing policy of not allowing dogs on its pitches.

The club has continuously emphasised this point, including at the beginning of the current season.

Despite clear signage displayed throughout the club grounds, certain dog owners persist in disregarding the rules and allowing their pets onto the pitches at Kilraughts Road.

With hundreds of players, some as young as Primary 1, utilizing the pitches on a weekly basis, the presence of dog excrement poses a significant threat to their health and well-being. The risk of infection caused by dog feces is particularly dangerous for children and young people.

The club also caters to the needs of the Ballymoney Blue Jays Disability Rugby team, which includes children with high-level sensory challenges. Ensuring a safe and clean environment for these players is of utmost importance.

Moreover, Ballymoney RFC invests a substantial amount of money in maintaining the pitches throughout the year. These facilities are intended for the purpose of playing rugby, not as a restroom for dogs.

In light of recent events, the club is once again emphasising the crucial point that dogs are strictly prohibited from entering the pitches at Ballymoney RFC. No exceptions will be made.

The club kindly requests the full cooperation of all individuals in adhering to this policy. By respecting these guidelines, everyone can contribute to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all players.
