Ballymoney’s Sammy McClements and his fundraising friends have yet again raised an impressive total for the cancer support charity Macmillan.
A now familiar sight at the diamond area of Ballymoney each July collecting for the charity, Sammy along with his loyal fundraising team, also holds various other events and activities throughout the year, including a sponsored walk, quiz nights and a big breakfast – to name a few.
Following his success over previous years, 2022 was no different, and Sammy recently was able to hand over a cheque totalling £14,333 to the charity.
Maria Small, who is the Relationship Fundraising Manager for Macmillan in NI, said: “Samuel is an absolute joy to support and work alongside – his passion, energy and commitment to fundraising and the promotion of Macmillan services is second to none. Samuel is one of our top fundraisers in NI, and this year marks his 10th year raising funds for Macmillan. He has raised over £85,000 during that time and hopes to break the £100,000 total, so I would encourage everyone in Ballymoney and indeed across NI to get behind his fundraising and help smash his target.”
