Rotary Club Road Safety Event at Dalriada School Promotes “Just One Life” Message.

In an effort to promote road safety and raise awareness about the consequences of reckless driving, the Rotary Club organized a special event at Dalriada School today. More than 300 local pupils had the opportunity to witness and experience the realities of a collision through a collaborative effort between Maydown Road Policing, NIFRS (Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service), and a medical professional.

The event, aptly titled “Just One Life,” aimed to emphasize the importance of responsible driving and the potential life-altering consequences of road accidents. The students were taken through a simulated crash scenario, where they could see and hear firsthand what it’s like to be involved in a collision.

Representatives from Maydown Road Policing, NIFRS, and a doctor guided the students through the crash, providing insights into the immediate aftermath and the long-term effects of such incidents. The aim was to educate and instill a sense of responsibility and caution among the young audience.

Road safety is an ongoing concern, and events like these play a crucial role in raising awareness and preventing accidents.

With the “Just One Life” message resonating among the attendees, it is hoped that the event will have a lasting impact, inspiring a generation of responsible drivers who prioritize the safety of themselves and others.
