Tony Bennett, the legendary singer, has passed away at the age of 96, just a few weeks shy of his 97th birthday.
Born in 1926 in Long Island City, Queens, Bennett had an illustrious career spanning several decades, during which he collaborated with notable artists like Frank Sinatra and Lady Gaga. His publicist, Sylvia Weiner, confirmed that Bennett died on Friday in his hometown of New York.
Although the cause of death was not disclosed, Bennett had been privately battling Alzheimer’s disease since 2016, a condition he revealed to the public in 2021 after five years of managing it in private.
