Macmillan Cancer Support and Northern Trust Reopen Cancer Information Pod

Macmillan Cancer Support, in partnership with the Northern Trust, is officially re-opening their cancer information pod in the main entrance to Causeway Hospital in Coleraine.

The pod is home to valuable information and support for anyone with questions about cancer.

The pod provides a friendly environment for patients, carers and anyone affected by cancer to access good quality, comprehensive and appropriate information and support. A wide-range of Macmillan booklets are available, dealing with everything from emotional support to advice on benefits and financial support.

Trained Macmillan volunteers will man the pod throughout the week. No appointment is necessary and people can drop in for a chat or to have their questions answered.

We are able to provide:

·         Leaflets and booklets on all aspects of living with and beyond cancer

·         Signposting to benefits advice and other sources of financial help

·         Signposting to local services such as counselling, complementary therapies, physical activity programmes and more

·         Access to practical help such as transport, help at home and travel insurance

·         Access to work support and information

·         Access to support programmes to help you cope with the effects of cancer both during and after treatment e.g. fatigue management workshops

·         Signposting to family support services

If cancer has touched your life in any way, we invite you to visit our Macmillan Volunteers at the Causeway Hospital. You’ll find us right at the entrance, eager to listen and provide support.
