Sinn Féin Councillors on Causeway Coast and Glens Council have welcomed confirmation of the terms of reference for the extraordinary audit of the council undertaken by DFC Minister Deirdre Hargey.
Council Group leader Leanne Peacock has said:
“Sinn Féin have been calling for a forensic audit of Causeway Coast and Glens Council for some time now due to serious concerns about financial management and land disposal processes. ”
“I welcome this intervention from the Minister which will see a full extraordinary audit of the organisation with a focus on land disposal and easement processes.
“The Minister and the audit office have now agreed the terms of reference for the audit which will commence imminently and the terms of reference state that the audit will look at land disposal processes from the inception of the new council back in 2015.
“This comprehensive audit which will look at financial management and land disposal issues over the entire lifetime of the council is welcomed by our party grouping and will monitor its progression and the outcomes closely.”
