Two people who had been paddle boarding and came ashore in an inlet were rescued by the Coleraine and Ballycastle Coastguard Teams near Dunluce Castle at 5:00 p.m. yesterday (May 30).
Both individuals were unharmed. The Portrush RNLI inshore lifeboat was also present during the rescue operation.
While rescuing the two individuals, the team was notified of something spotted in the water and personal items left behind on the shore at Benone beach.
Part of the team was redirected to the area, and the Portrush RNLI inshore and all-weather lifeboats were assigned to the task. Fortunately, it was a false alarm.
