Macosquin LOL 310 were presented with a new bannerette by the Kelly Family in memory of their late father, Bro, William Kelly, who had been in the lodge for 68 years.

The Reverend Paul Lyons of St. Mary’s Parish Church in Macosquin opened the evening with prayer before handing over to Worshipful Bro, Mark Kelly, who spoke about his father and the pictures depicted on the bannerette.

The Reverend Lyons then dedicated the bannerette before the Worshipful District Master Bro unfurled it. John Parke, along with Bro., William Kelly (Jnr).

Macosquin Smith’s Defenders RBP 256 were presented with their new bannerette from Mrs Etta Hutchinson.

The Worshipful Master, Sir Knight Kenneth Hutchison, spoke about Etta and her support to both Orders over the years. Unfortunately, Etta could not attend, but her family were there to represent her.

The Reverend Lyons again dedicated the bannerette before it was unfurled by the Worshipful District Master, Sir Knight Derek Cauley, along with Etta’s son Sir Knight Michael Hutchinson.

Both the bannerettes were made by Bro. Trevor McKay, for this, they are very grateful; also thanks must go to Bro. Robert Butler for all his help in sourcing all the accessories for both.

Photographs were taken afterwards, and a light supper was served. Macosquin Lodge and Preceptory would like to thank all who attended the evening and express their sincere gratitude to the Kelly and Hutchinson families. A retiring collection was made in aid of the local Alzheimer’s society.
