Balnamore Primary school are asking the public to make grocery & toiletry donations, which they intend to distribute to the elderly in the village.
A letter written by the acting principal of the school reads:
“As you will be aware from the news and social media, people have been ‘bulk buying’ in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
“As a school community we are considering the elderly in the village who may find it more difficult to access supermarkets to buy the basics that they need.
“Therefore, we plan to help by gathering grocery/toiletry items and
donating to the elderly in the village. We would be delighted if we could have your help.”
The items suggested by the school to donate are:
- Hand Wash
- Tinned Foods In.
- Toilet Roll
- Biscuits
- Fruit and Vegetables
- Tissues
- Tea Bags
- Cereals
- Bottled Water
- Fruit Juice
Donations can be made and dropped of at the school directly.
